Description
An activity plan which includes a number of play-based activities to aid children’s understanding of using part-whole models for addition and subtraction.
National Curriculum Links:
- Read, write and interpret mathematical statements involving addition (+), subtraction (-) and equals (=) signs.
- Represent and use number bonds and related subtraction facts within 20.
- Add and subtract one-digit and two-digit numbers to 20, including zero.
- Solve one-step problems that involve addition and subtraction, using concrete objects and pictorial representations, and missing number problems.
Each activity plan includes: a number of activities with clear links to the national curriculum, a range of extra challenges to extend learning further, a list of resources needed to complete the activities, and example photographs of how activities can be set up.
